Franklin County Recent Arrest Sources
Most bookings in Franklin County happen at the Adult Detention Facility. It also takes arrestees handed over by local police departments. The county website offers no searchable jail roster. That gap makes the phone the fastest route. For a pressing custody question, call detention and booking at (636) 582-8600. The Sheriff's records unit handles those requests. Ask it for a particular arrest record or booking file. One more wrinkle matters. A name absent from one source does not rule out an arrest. Not every arrest ends in a county booking.
Two state and city feeds fill in narrow slices of the picture. The Missouri State Highway Patrol posts preliminary records of arrests its own troopers made. Those stay online for just five days. Washington Police puts out shift summaries that blend arrests with ordinary calls for service. Neither feed amounts to a full Franklin County jail list.
| Window | Official source | What it covers | Photos |
|---|---|---|---|
| Newest activity | MSHP Arrest Reports | Patrol arrests only; preliminary records remain five days | No county gallery |
| Several days and older pages | Washington Police live feed | City shift summaries, including some arrest and custody events | Police graphic, not booking photos |
| Current county custody | Detention/booking line | Named-person confirmation by telephone | Request separately if held and releasable |
Need a same-day check? The 24 Hour Arrests page covers that narrow window. The Arrest Log page takes the longer view, tracking the Washington blotter without mistaking it for a true roster.
Arrested Last Night in Franklin County
Begin with whichever agency made the arrest. Was it a trooper? Filter the MSHP report search to Franklin County or Troop C and the arrest date. Each result can include the name, age, and city. It may also show the arrest time, reported charge, troop, holding place, and release notation. Washington Police, Union Police, Pacific Police, and sheriff's deputies also make arrests. None of those ever appear in that feed. For current county custody, call detention and booking directly. Go through that agency's records process for the report itself. Once you locate the person, the VINELink Check guide walks through Missouri's MOVANS alert system.
Franklin County arrest listings show booking events, not court outcomes. What happens next is up to the legal process.
The official Troop C results page shows how Highway Patrol arrest records are formatted and returned.
This capture illustrates the agency-limited state feed, not a complete Franklin County booking roster.
The Franklin County Jail Roster Gap
Franklin County publishes no searchable jail roster online. That does not mean booking records are missing. The jail holds both city and county detainees, so staff and the records unit remain the official paths for arrest details. Skip private sites posing as a county system.
| Question or field | Official way to obtain it |
|---|---|
| Is the person held now? | Call detention/booking at (636) 582-8600 |
| Detainee identification number | Ask the detainee or call (636) 583-2560, extension 1210 |
| Booking date, report, charge, or release entry | Make a focused Sheriff’s Office records request |
| Booking photograph | Ask whether the image is maintained and releasable |
| Court result | Check Missouri Case.net or the Circuit Court Clerk |
Start with a name and the agency that made the arrest. Call booking to check current custody. Someone processed within the hour may not appear yet, so wait and try again. Is the person already out? Then the jail roster no longer helps. A written request for the booking record can still bring back the file, though. Include the event date and the record type you want. A defendant sent to state prison moves out of county hands entirely. That search belongs to the Missouri Department of Corrections. The official detention page names the facility and lists its phone and mail routes.
The county page lacks a public inmate table, yet it remains the place to start for Franklin County arrest questions.
Franklin County Booking Scale
The Franklin County jail tracked an average of 175 detainees per day in 2024. Its busiest day hit 230. Those are headcounts of people in custody, not arrest totals. They are not the rated capacity either. One arrestee can appear in many daily counts. A person arrested and released the same night might never show up at all. Even so, the numbers explain the workload. A deputy answering phones is also watching a full block. A call to confirm one booking can take time.
Franklin County also holds detainees for cities inside the county. That splits the paper trail. A city police department keeps the incident and arrest report. The Sheriff's Office keeps the booking and detention record. The Circuit Court Clerk holds the case once charges are filed. Each office created its own record. A smart request names the stage you need and goes to that office directly. Ask city police for a jail release entry. You will likely get a referral. Ask detention staff for a city incident narrative and the same thing happens.
Note: Daily detention population measures jail workload. It is never a count of Franklin County arrests.
Where Franklin County Arrests Appear
Who made the arrest shapes where it shows up. Start with official sources, since each agency defines its own coverage and can fix its own record. Local news adds context. It is not a custody database. Commercial arrest sites can be stale, thin, or plain wrong, and none of them outranks the agency that did the booking.
| Channel | Official? | Photo? | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Franklin County detention and records | Yes | By request if releasable | Current custody and county booking documents |
| MSHP arrest reports | Yes | No gallery | Trooper arrests during the five-day window |
| Washington Police live feed | Yes | No booking photo | City shift summaries and approximate event context |
| Missouri Case.net | Yes | No | Filed case events and disposition follow-through |
| Missouri DOC offender search | Yes | May show an offender image | People sentenced into state custody |
| Local news | No | Varies | Editorial context, not proof of custody |
Commercial booking sites do carry Franklin County pages at times, though several large publishers list no local section at all. None of those pages are linked here. A listing there proves nothing about current custody. For any name, charge, or release status, the office that made the arrest is the place to check.
Recent Arrests by Franklin County City
The city pages here cover the three largest incorporated places in the county's official population breakdown. Washington stands out for its live police feed. Union and Pacific both maintain official police and records channels. Neither posts a current online arrest log. For anyone in custody, the same Franklin County detention route applies countywide.
- Washington Recent Arrests: Washington Police shift reports, city records, and county booking verification.
- Union Recent Arrests: Union Police records and the county facility in the same city.
- Pacific Recent Arrests: Pacific Police records, with care for the city’s Franklin and St. Louis County boundary.
Inside a Franklin County Arrest Record
A booking record is simply the agency's own account of a jail intake. Fields differ from one agency to the next. Ask for the exact document you want rather than "everything." That vague request slows things down. Three papers matter. The arrest report covers the enforcement event. The booking record shows entry into custody. The court file follows the case from there.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name and identifiers | The person associated with the agency record |
| Arrest date and time | When the reported arrest occurred, not always booking time |
| Arresting agency and location | Who acted and where the event was recorded |
| Charge as booked | The charge listed at intake, subject to later change |
| Holding place and release notation | The reported custody destination or release state at that point |
| Bond and court reference | Terms or case information available in that record |
| Booking photograph | An intake image, if created, retained, and releasable |
Booking is jail intake, and bond covers the conditions of release. Disposition is the court's result, while expungement is the statutory process that can close eligible records.
Franklin County Mugshots and Booking Photos
Franklin County publishes no online roster of booking photos. The Sheriff's Office or another agency may hold a booking photograph. If it is open, request it directly from that custodian. Include the person's full name. Add the approximate arrest date and the arresting agency. Name the exact item you want. The custodian may report that a record is closed, unavailable, or redacted by law.
The Missouri Department of Corrections runs a separate offender search for state prison. That search lists no photo field. Expect no image for someone sentenced to state custody. It is not a substitute for a county mugshot or current jail status. Historical corrections photos in the Missouri State Archives are not a live gallery either. Commercial mugshot sites are secondary, and they can linger after a release. The official Missouri DOC offender search marks the line. It separates county booking from state prison records.
Save that state portal for the sentenced-prisoner stage, not a fresh Franklin County arrest.
Request a Franklin County Arrest Record
The Sheriff's Office takes record requests several ways. Email fcsorecords@franklinmo.gov, or fax (636) 584-6877. Walk in during business hours, call (636) 583-2560, or use mail. The main office sits at #1 Bruns Drive. Yet the records mailing address reads Attn: Records, #1 Bruns Lane, Union, MO 63084. Copy the agency's wording exactly when you address the envelope.
- Identify the record holder, such as the Sheriff’s Office or the police department that made the arrest.
- Provide the name, approximate date, location, and report or case number if known.
- Ask for named items, such as the arrest report, booking sheet, release entry, or booking photograph.
- Request an estimate before costly copying or staff research begins.
- Keep the response and compare the case number with Case.net for the court outcome.
Missouri's Sunshine Law sets the clock for answers. A response is due as soon as possible. It cannot come later than the end of the third business day. Production itself can run longer if the custodian explains why in detail. Fees follow a formula. Research is billed at the average hourly pay of clerical staff. Copies run up to ten cents per page, plus actual media costs. Narrowing the request can shrink the bill.
Missouri Arrest Records and Removal Law
Missouri law sets its own rules for arrest records. Missouri Revised Statutes § 610.100 spells out when a record becomes closed, including cases where no charges are ever filed. Section 610.140 covers who qualifies for expungement and how to pursue it. A judge must order any expungement. Juvenile files and investigative material carry separate access limits.
Missouri § 407.1150 bars fees for removing or correcting certain criminal-record information, so steer clear of paid-removal offers.
A court may close or expunge a record. Send that order to the government custodian. Then use each publisher's free correction or opt-out process. Search engines update on their own schedule. They refresh only after the source changes. No one can promise that every cached copy disappears at once. Note: retention schedules differ among police logs, booking files, court records, and archives. The official statute page carries the controlling text on arrest-record status.
The statute answers questions of legal status. It won't show whether a person is still in custody.
Franklin County Warrants and Wanted Information
Franklin County's government site offers no public warrant-search tool and posts no current most-wanted list. Old search results tied to a former sheriff domain carry no live authority. Call the Sheriff's Office at (636) 583-2560. You can also talk to an attorney, or check the filed case on Missouri Case.net. A court docket can lag. It may not answer every warrant question either. The issuing court or law-enforcement agency remains the final source.
Never approach or try to detain someone you believe is wanted. Report information to the Sheriff's Office, or to emergency services if safety is at risk. Warrant status shifts after service, recall, or court action. That is why copied lists and stale snippets make poor evidence.
After a Franklin County Arrest
Booking and courtroom paperwork follow different clocks. The county's detention page says new court details do not reach Case.net right away. So urgent bond or custody questions belong with the jail or the Franklin County Circuit Court Clerk. Once a case is filed, Case.net earns its keep. It lists docket events, hearings, and the final disposition. Just know that the original booking charge can shift. Prosecutors may amend it, decline it, dismiss it, or resolve it under a different count.
Bond payments go through official channels only. The county accepts cards at 1 Bruns Lane during business hours. You can also pay by phone at (800) 222-4668 using Form 2122 instructions. Cash works at the Judicial Center, 401 E. Main Street. Anything outside those routes may be a scam. Confirm the amount and method before you send money.
Why can a person appear in an arrest feed but not Case.net? The feed logs the arrest itself, while Case.net only reflects a case after it is filed and entered by court staff.
Franklin County Custody Beyond the Jail
A prison sentence moves a person out of the county booking system. The Missouri Department of Corrections offender search then becomes the place to look. That database tracks state custody and supervision, not people freshly booked in Union. The Federal Bureau of Prisons locator handles federal inmates. It publishes no booking photos. ICE's detainee locator covers immigration detention only. A U.S. Marshals hold adds a wrinkle. The jail holding someone is not always the legal custodian, so confirm with the agency actually in charge. For custody and court alerts, Missouri offers MOVANS. The state changed the system in May 2026. The current portal is movans.dps.mo.gov, and old Franklin County pages still showing a former phone number should be disregarded.
